Who is Bruce
Kent? I’ll tell you. Bruce Kent is a man whose time has finally come. Bruce
Kent is an unsung hero in this industry, and, hopefully, he will soon be the
new Code Red Wrestling General Manager.
For those of
you who don’t know who Bruce Kent is, Bruce has spent over twenty-five years as
a successful sports agent having big name clients from all manners of sports.
He also spent five years in Washington D.C. lobbying for player rights. Now he’s
running for the General Manager position in CRW, and I’m pulling for him
because I’m not afraid to say that Bruce Kent and I are friends.
See, some
people have claimed that Bruce Kent doesn’t care about wrestling, that he has
no experience in this industry. Well that’s just not true. In fact Bruce Kent
was one of the most important people involved with Universal Championship
Wrestling and later Fantasy Wrestling Federation. Bruce broke into the
wrestling business in the early nineties by bringing some bright young American
talent to the Britain based UCW. With him came Smith and Wesson one of the
cornerstones of the early days of the UCW tag team division along with Thomas
Rock, Justin Hardplace, and Rick Roll. He had his first client with singles
success in Timothy Nathan Taylor who not only won the tag title. He won the
Intercontinental Championship several time as well as the Television Title.
Some of
Bruce’s biggest signings came when he discovered the Predator, Oz Van Damn, and
the Destroyer. Between the three of them they held the UCW Championship twelve
times along with numerous other titles.
At one point
Bruce signed established UCW star “Captain”
Joe Stall, and this would prove to be arguably his most fruitful signing. When
Joe returned from retirement to join FWF, Bruce was there to negotiate the
signing. Bruce also handled the contracts of many of the UCW superstars who
joined FWF, including the Predator. Bruce’s connection with Joe Stall would
lead to him discovering the man who would eventually become Joe’s son in-law, “Mr.
Wrestling” William Jones, then known to the wrestling world as Pain and signing
him to FWF. Joe Stall, William Jones, and the Predator would all go on to be
FWF Hall of Famers. And Joe Stall is of course the grandfather of one of the
hottest stars in wrestling today, New Era World Heavyweight Champion, James
Stall, another Bruce Kent client.
But Bruce
has more than just years of being a sports agent. He’s got years of being good
at it. Bruce knows loyalty to his clients and the company he works for, and he
knows how to protect his people. Bruce Kent’s clients might not all be angels,
but he looks out for their best interests. Bruce Kent is all about equality and
building toward the future. He’s got an eye for talent and the connections in
the industry to help him make some big moves. There’s no one more qualified for
the CRW General Manager position.
